Archaeological field school places, Esperance, Western Australia, April 2009
Flinders University will be running a two week long Indigenous archaeological field school in Esperance, Western Australia during April 2009. The field school is being run in partnership with the National Trust of Australia (WA), the Gabbi Kylie Foundation, South Coast NRM, WA Dept of Indigenous Affairs, Western Australian Museum, Applied Archaeology and local Nyungar groups. It will include surveys, site recording and excavation of a range of different site types, with a focus on the Stokes Inlet National Park, and working closely with Indigenous community members.
This is to advise there are a small number of places available on the field school for non-Flinders students if anyone is interested in coming along. All of the relevant information about the field school can be accessed on-line at http://ehlt.flinders.edu.au/archaeology/fieldwork/field_schools/field_methods_1/index.php and I am also happy to answer any further enquiries anyone might have that are not already addressed on the website.
Thanks Lynley
